Our Story
Five years, one obsession — food you can actually trust.
The Walnut That Started It All
On a road trip through Kashmir's Lolab Valley, our founder Arjun cracked open a freshly picked walnut from a local farmer. The flavour was incomparable to anything sold back in Mumbai — sweet, creamy, nothing like the stale, bitter nuts on supermarket shelves. He spent the next two weeks visiting orchards, talking to farmers, and asking one question: "Why doesn't the rest of India get to taste this?"
ValleyNuts Is Born
After two years building farm partnerships and getting FSSAI certification, ValleyNuts launched online with just three SKUs — Kashmiri Walnuts, California Almonds, and Whole Cashews. The first 100 orders were packed by hand in Arjun's apartment. Every single customer got a handwritten thank-you note.
The Lab-Testing Promise
A competitor's product failed an aflatoxin test in a consumer report. While the industry scrambled, we had already been testing every batch for six months. We made lab reports public — scannable QR codes on every pack that link to the actual results. Transparency became our competitive advantage.
10 Farming Communities
We formalised long-term contracts with 10 farming communities across Kashmir, Goa, Rajasthan, and international partners in California, Turkey, and Afghanistan. Fixed annual pricing means farmers can plan ahead; we get consistent quality. No middlemen, no auctions.
50,000 Families & Counting
ValleyNuts crossed 50,000 orders. We opened a dedicated quality lab in Pune, launched our gifting line, and began working on nutritional research partnerships with two Indian universities. The handwritten notes stopped — but the obsession with quality never did.
